Social media applications normally provide convenient, in-built camera tools, but these often come with a limited selection of shooting options. Addressing this issue, Samsung has collaborated with popular apps Instagram and Snap to incorporate several of its unique camera features into their platforms. This is designed to enhance users’ social media experiences via the latest Galaxy S24 series smartphones, especially the high-end S24 Ultra model with a 200-megapixel primary camera.
Specifically, Samsung is offering its “Super HDR” feature, an enhanced “Nightography” function, and video stabilization within Instagram and Snapchat’s in-app cameras. It’s important to note, though, that video stabilization must be activated in the native camera settings beforehand.
Samsung’s partnership with Instagram goes a step further, offering improved editing, uploading, and viewing experiences catered to the brand’s devices. This includes the ability to craft Instagram stories directly from motion photos. Thanks to their Super HDR features, the Galaxy S24 devices are the first to facilitate HDR photo support on Instagram, establishing a possible trend for other apps to introduce this lively display format in the future.
The prominent role of new AI features in the Galaxy S24 series’ camera systems explains why Samsung is eager to extend its camera integration into two famous social media platforms. However, users might still prefer to rely on the native camera app and its editing tools for maximum flexibility, particularly with AI-specific features like “Edit Suggestion,” “Generative Edit” (requires network connection), and “Instant Slow-mo.”
